A seasoned professional in all aspects of major gift fundraising, Sarah Shrewsbury has personally raised tens of millions of dollars for nonprofits.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Sarah served as a major gift Development Officer for 23 years, with Yale University (13 years), Mystic Seaport, The Nature Conservancy of Connecticut and AmeriCares.  During those years, she participated in many million dollar and two, billion-dollar campaigns.

Sarah has raised major gifts for a vast variety of designations, with a slight emphasis on environmental organizations.   She has raised major gifts for current use/operating budget, bricks & mortar, endowments, historic preservation, education, human services, scientific studies, disaster relief, academic research & scholarship, international aid, museums, maritime societies, community sailing programs, United Way major gift program, environmental policy, land conservation, art galleries and libraries.

Since 2013, Sarah uses her decades of successful front-line Development experience to help the board and staff members of her consulting clients, not only with major gift strategy and training, but also with the all-important fine details of fundraising.  Her presentations to boards, staff and at conferences on The Major Gift and Campaign Processes always garner high marks.

Sarah earned her BA from Tufts University and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.  Living in Guilford, Connecticut for most of her life, she is a former board member of the Guilford Land Conservation Trust and enjoys boating on Long Island Sound.  Sarah has one grown daughter, Eliza.
